viljandi naituse avamine vidya a4Henrik Martin lives in Budapest. He graduated from Hungarian Academy of Arts in the department of paintings at 2004, but he is a great admirer of sculpture. He has exhibited several exhibitions in Hungary, France, India and Estonia, and his works are available both in private collections and in Hungarian museums.

In his work he mainly deals with the lack of self-consciousness, doubting his existence. Vidya (Sanskrit language: knowledge, clearness, thoroughness) is an attempt to seek identity, self-determination, which focuses on mirror-eyeing, focusing on the eye. The artist calls his experiments in the series, the ironic procedures of undermining selfishness, called "exercises", that is, he does not consider them as a one-off solution, but rather as a repeatable task or a preparation for a future situation. On canvas or basalt carvings, it is only the least modifiable part of the face, the eyes can be clearly distinguished.

The exhibition is open until 29th March.
