On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade – with the contribution of the Hungarian National Museum and the support of the Hungarian National Cultural Fund – has prepared the exhibition "Soli deo Gloria – Five Centuries of Hungarian Reformation", presenting the antecedents of Reformation, the circumstances leading to its formation, its ecclesiastical significance, its role in the history of Hungary, and in the renewal of church and society.


Through its rich visual world, the exhibition illustrates the effect of the reformation on Hungarian historiography, academic life, and the enrichment of Hungarian language, literature and music. It presents the great figures of Hungarian Reformation, the spiritual emanation of colleges, the role of famous teachers and students, the importance of peregrination. Finally, it gives a brief overview on the Hungarian Protestant Churches’ history in the 18th and 19th century, and their current activities, emphasizing the preserving strength of Reformation today.
The opening of the exhibition is on 26th March at 3pm in Juuru's Mahtra Peasantry Museum.
