Post-it Poetry 2019

Hungarians come together on April 11th of each year to celebrate The Day of Hungarian Poetry. Held on the birthday of famous Hungarian poet Attila József (1905-1937), the event has been going since 1964 and brings young and old József Attilatogether to celebrate the inspiring achievements of their country’s greatest literary geniuses. Famed writer and poet Sándor Márai was also born on this same day.

Celebrating the Day of Hungarian Poetry in Estonia, our first 'Post-it Poetry' installation will display hundreds of poems on colourful notes for people of Tallinn and Tartu to read and take away. You can read (in Estonian), enjoy and take away your favourite quotes from the poems of Janus Pannonius, Bálint Balassi, Sándor Petőfi, Endre Ady or Mihály Babits.

For the poems, please come to visit us at the Institute in Tallinn (Piiskopi 2.) or in Tartu, the entrances of the university buildings (Jakobi 2., Lossi 3.), and Tartu Youth Advisory Center (Vaksali 17, 3rd floor).
